Transferring inventory and prep recipe on-hand quantities between Units improves allocation, enhances operational efficiency, and supports better inventory management. It also enables centralized data access, reduces duplication, and ensures consistency across Units.
Transfers and Recipe Share rely on the ingredient or recipe name to match data between Units. When data is transferred or shared for the first time, the receiving Unit imports it using the sending Unit’s naming description. If the name is changed in either Unit, reciProfity won’t recognize it during future transfers—resulting in duplicate ingredients or recipes.
- Use the ingredient merge feature to clean up duplicates.
- There is no recipe merge option, so consistency is key.
- To prevent naming conflicts, assign lower authorization rights to users who should not modify ingredient or recipe names.
