Importing your sales mix helps you understand which recipes are profitable or unprofitable, as shown in the Sales Mix Report. It also allows reciProfity to adjust inventory based on sales, which improves the accuracy of both the Ideal Usage Report and the Variance Report.
Set Up Your POS Filter
Each POS system exports sales data in a unique format. To ensure your file imports correctly, it must match the POS Filter setting in reciProfity. If the structure doesn’t align, the import will fail.
Your POS file should include three key columns:
- PLU (Product Lookup Code)
- Quantity sold
- Sales dollars
reciProfity identifies these columns by their position in the file—not by column headers.
Access POS Filter Settings
You can access the POS Filter setup in two ways:
Option 1: From the Gear Icon
- Click the gear icon in the top right corner, open Setup, and choose Options.
- Select Sales.
Option 2: From the Hamburger Menu
- Click the hamburger menu in the top left corner, expand Manage Inventory, then choose Sales Mix.
- Select the setup gear.
- Open the Select POS Filter drop-down menu and choose your POS system.
- Click Preview Selected Filter to view the expected file structure.
reciProfity accepts the following file types:
-
- Excel spreadsheets
- Flat files
- CSV (comma-separated values)
- TXT (tab-delimited text)
In the example below:
- Column A is position 0 (PLU)
- Column B is position 1 (Quantity sold)
- Column C is position 2 (Sales dollars)
This is how the import file may look. The appearance can differ based on your POS system. Nevertheless, following the example provided, the import file will resemble the image below.
Column A is the zero position
Column B is the first position
Column C is the second position
Note: Sales dollars are optional. reciProfity will populate the selling price into the Sales Mix sheet if this column is missing.
