How To Use the Optimizer
Ingredient Optimization
- Merge Groups: Accidentally created or imported a duplicate group? No need to delete it—just merge it with the correct one. The Optimizer will automatically reassign all the ingredients for you.
- Merge Ingredients: When you import from the order guide, it’s easy to end up with the same ingredient listed under different vendors. Merging them pulls all that vendor data into one clean, unified ingredient.
- Add USDA Codes: Missing some USDA codes? Instead of hunting through every recipe, you can add them right here in the Optimizer.
Recipe Cost Optimization
- Set Food Cost or Margin Targets: Decide how you want to calculate your recipe costs—by food cost percentage or by margin. Either way, the Optimizer will do the math for you.
- Apply Category-Based Targets: Want to keep things consistent across similar recipes? Set food cost or margin targets by category, and the Optimizer will apply them automatically.
