How To Import a Sales Mix and Resolve Missing PLUs

Prepare Your Sales Mix File

Before importing, make sure your serving recipes and saleable ingredients have matching PLU codes used in your POS system.

You'll also need to:

  1. Obtain your Sales report (often called a grind file) from your POS.
  2. Download the file onto the device you use to access reciProfity.

Start the Import Process

  1. Click on the hamburger icon, Manage Inventory, and then Sales Mix.

If this is your first time importing, you’ll need to assign a POS Filter. To do this:

  1. Click the gear icon.


  2. Open the Select POS Filter drop-down menu and choose your POS system.

reciProfity will save your POS Filter settings for future imports.

 

Required File Columns

Your import file must include:

  • PLU
  • Quantity Sold
  • Sales Dollars

If your POS system includes updated selling prices, you can import them directly:

  • Click Update Selling Price to pull the latest price from your POS. You don’t need to reenter it manually.

Preview and Import

  1. Click Preview Selected Filter to confirm the file structure matches your POS system.
  2. Click the Import icon.


  3. Select the saved file from your POS system.

 

Resolve Missing PLUs

After import:

  • PLUs found in reciProfity will appear in the Preview Sales Mix console.
  • PLUs not found will appear under the “Show x not imported items” button. Click to expand.

To resolve missing PLUs:

  1. Keep the Preview Sales Mix tab open.


  2. Open a second tab and go to the Recipe Manager console.
  3. Add or correct the missing PLUs.
    Note: Even after resolving PLUs, they may still appear as unresolved in the Preview screen. That’s okay.
  4. Click the icon to move all PLUs—including previously unresolved ones—into the Sales Mix Edit screen.
  5. Confirm that no issues remain in the import summary.

Finish the Import

  • Click the   icon to expand and view the ingredient listing for each recipe.


  • Click Import Sales Mix to complete the process and deplete inventory.

Edit Past Imports

To view or edit a previous Sales Mix import:

  • Click the blue edit pencil icon from the Sales Mix Manager console
