The Alternate Unit of Measure options can be set in Options.
1. Click on the Gear/Setup/Options
2. From Options click on Recipe on the sidebar. Click the box next to Scaling and Alternate UOM conversion.
3. The following are the alternate UOM:
- Do not convert to floz (i.e., skip from Tbl to cups)
- Up to 3 tsp, leave as some decimal number tsp. At 3 tsp and greater, convert to a decimal number of Tbl.
- Up to 4 Tbl, leave as some decimal number of Tbl. Up to 1 cup, convert to a decimal number of cup.
- Up to 4 cups, leave as some decimal number of cups. At 4 cups and greater, convert to a decimal number of qt.
- Up to 4 qts, leave as some decimal number of qts. At 4 qts and greater, convert to a decimal number of gal.
- Express whole numbers without decimals, i.e., 2 cups (not 2.0 cups).
- No other changes to any other units of measure or conversion algorithms.
Important notes: - None of this affects what UOM can be used in recipe entry. So even though we don’t convert to floz, you can create a recipe using a floz.
- Scaling up and then back down can change the original UOM. If you have 2 floz in a recipe, and scale it 4x, it will convert to 1 cup. If you scale it back to the original yield, it won’t say 2 floz, since we don’t convert to floz. It would convert to .25 cup.
- If the recipe isn’t saved, there would not be any changes made.
- Decimal conversions will be rounded to 2 decimal places (i.e., 2.557 tbl would display and price as 2.56 tbl).
