Why it's important
This Production interface imports recipe orders. The PLU of your existing recipe and the quantity to produce can instantly convert those requests into production sheets (which can then deplete inventory). Imagine the efficiencies of going from orders to production (and reporting) in a few clicks! Here are some scenarios:
- Your centralized production kitchen takes orders from outlets. Create a spreadsheet, import orders, and generate a consolidated production sheet in the kitchen.
- Your online store receives orders for your prepared foods. Generate a .csv or spreadsheet from your e-commerce platform and import it into reciProfity
- You are growing your restaurant delivery business and want to streamline production.
The Production Import is an add-on component. Please visit the reciProfity pricing page for the latest pricing information.
Follow these directions to activate the Production Import feature.
How to use it
1) First, Activate the Production Import.
2) In the recipe manager, each recipe used for the production import must have a unique PLU corresponding to the PLU in the orders received.
3) In the recipe manager, click the Interfaces drop-down menu and select Production Import.
4) Choose your POS Filter by clicking Options. Remember to click SAVE from the Options page.
5) The SETTINGS category is "Production Import"
6) Choose your Production Import Filter from the drop-down menu. Excel is the example used for this demonstration.
7) Click "Preview Selected Filter" to review the column structure.
7.I) Column A is the PLU, and
7.ii) Column B is the quantity ordered.
7.a) If it's a serving recipe, it's each or one serving. If it's a prep recipe, it's the quantity multiplied by the prep unit. So if the prep yield is in lbs, and the imported quantity is 50, then it's 50 lbs.
8) Click SAVE to save the updates.
9) Return to the Production Import page.
10) Locate and connect the Excel file.
Please note that this is an Excel file, not CSV.
Excel files fail the import if they contain multiple tabs or worksheets.
11) Click Continue.
12) The import is successful.
13) The "Show not imported items" button will show any failed recipes.
14) Click the Import button to complete the process.
