Why It's Important
When you receive products and enter an invoice, reciProfity updates the On Hand quantity for that product. However, if the product is not assigned to a specific Location, reciProfity cannot adjust it to zero when you do inventory counts. As a result, the On Hand quantity for that product will remain unchanged, which can lead to inaccuracies in On Hand totals after the count.
How To Use It
1) Click on the hamburger menu in the top left corner
2) Expand the Manage Inventory menu
3) Click on Counts
Create Locations
1) From the Counts page, click the Locations icon.
2) On the following screen, click the +New Location button.
3) Enter a Location name. A Location name is whatever name, or description makes sense to you, such as the Walk-In cooler, Freezer, Pantry, etc.
A sub-location can be something like Top Shelf, of where the product is stored within the Location.
When you implement a physical count, you count everything in each sub-location.
Don't forget to click the green +Plus button to save your changes.
4) This example, demonstrates the Dairy Shelves in the Walk-In Cooler.
5) Keep adding Sublocations, as many as you need. Just remember to click the green plus button to save each Sublocation:
6) Once you have all your Locations and Sublocations you can begin to add Products.
