Why it's important
The LOCATION feature tracks and identifies where products and prep recipes are stored. Inventory COUNT sheets are used for periodic physical counts, which are associated with specific locations. You can create as many locations as you want, but it's best to keep things simple at the beginning. Avoid creating an overly complicated location list until you have a clear understanding of how everything is connected. If an ingredient or prep recipe isn't linked to a specific location, it will not be included in a physical inventory count.
How to use it
Products can be stored in multiple locations, especially if you have purchased different pack sizes or if these products are used by two or more production teams. When multiple production teams operate within a single reciProfity Unit, it is likely they have overlapping products. Storing these overlapping products in a single shared location may not always be feasible, and doing so can compromise accountability for each production team. To address this concern, reciProfity allows products to be assigned to multiple locations.
In the ingredient view mode, click the Locations button at the top of each product. A pop-up displays any locations (and sub-locations) in which the product is assigned.
The Locations assignment can be modified by going into the ingredient edit mode. Click the Locations button, and this time, the pop-up permits you to edit.
