How To Remove or Reassign a Product Location

Assigning products to the correct locations is essential for accurate physical inventory counts. A product or prep recipe can have multiple location assignments because different production teams may need inventory close to their work areas. Over time, your supply chain changes. New vendors may join, or existing products may be replaced with alternatives. While every product must be assigned to a location, it’s equally important that each product is assigned to the correct location. Removing products from an incorrect location is just as important as assigning them properly.

You can update product locations in two ways:

1. From Ingredient Edit
2. From the Count feature

1. Update Product Location in Ingredient Edit

1. Click the Hamburger icon in the upper-left corner.
   
   
2. Click Ingredients.
   
   
   
3. Open the ingredient you want to update.
   
   
4. Click Edit to enter Ingredient Edit mode.
   
   
   
5. Click Location to open the Location List menu.
   
   
6. Use the delete icon to remove existing locations and/or the drop-down menu to assign a new location.
   
   
   
7. Click Close to exit the Location menu, then Save to keep your changes.

 

2. Update Product Location from the Count Feature

1. In the Count screen, click the Products icon.
   
   
   
2. From the Select Location drop-down menu, choose a location.
   
   
   
3. Use the delete icon to remove the product(s) from that location.
