When importing costs from Excel, it’s important to preserve decimal values. If Excel rounds prices to whole dollars, your ingredient costs and recipe pricing will be inaccurate.
How To Fix It
If you notice that prices are rounding up during an Excel order guide import, it’s likely because the price column is formatted as General instead of Number.
To correct this:
- Open your Excel file.
- Highlight the price column.
- Right-click and choose Format Cells.
- Select Number from the list of formats.
Alternatively, you can use the Number dropdown on the Home tab to apply the correct format.
Once updated, your Excel file will import with the correct number of decimal places.
