Why it's important
The Optimizer has several functions:
- Merging Groups
- Merging Ingredients
- Adding USDA codes
- Set food cost % or margin %
- Allow categories to determine food cost % or margin %
How to use it
Optimizing Ingredients:
- Merging Groups: Did you create an extra group or import a duplicated group? Instead of deleting the group, merge it and automatically reassign its ingredients to the merged group.
- Merging Ingredients: The order guide facilitates the quick import of ingredients. However, it can result in duplicate ingredients linked to different vendors. The merge feature consolidates multiple ingredients into a single ingredient and combines all vendor product data under one ingredient.
- Missing some USDA codes: Add them here instead of searching through each recipe.
Optimizing Recipes Costs:
- Set your food costs to calculate by food cost % or margin %.
- Create categories for your recipes and set a food cost % or margin % for those categories.
