We've done a lot of the heavy lifting for you!
SuperGroups, Groups, Allergens and Categories have been pre-loaded. You can always add, change or delete any of these. You can also add them "on the fly".
To view or change Categories or Food Cost or Margin% click the hamburger menu and choose The Optimizer.
- Categories are how you group your recipes by service period, course, or cuisine type and assign a target food cost. Later you'll associate each recipe with a Primary category and as many secondary categories as you'd like. Click on each category and assign a target food cost . This target food cost overrides the global food cost which you'll set later.
- Set your Food Cost % or Margin %. This is your global target food cost or margin %. A category with a food cost % or margin % over rides this Food Cost or Margin %. If you don't associate your recipe with a category, or your recipe does NOT have a food cost % or margin % then we'll use this global %.
To view or change SuperGroups, Groups and Allergens click on the gear icon, then Setup.
reciProfity comes populated with a list of the nine official USDA allergens. These cannot be deleted, but you can add as many as you'd like based on what's important for your customers. Later you'll associate relevant allergens with individual ingredients. When you use ingredients with allergens in a recipe we will then associate these allergens with those recipes and display an alert.
Add the names of all your Vendors or you can add Vendors as you enter ingredients or Order Guides.
Add or delete Supergroups, which are the highest level of ingredient categorization similar to General Ledger codes in your accounting system. SuperGroups are for reporting or for matching to your accounting system.
Add or delete Groups, which are the lowest level of ingredient categorization. Click on each group name to associate it with the appropriate SuperGroup. Later you'll add your ingredients to these groups. Groups allow you to filter for reporting purposes.
