In the Equivalents section of the Ingredient entry panel you told reciProfity how you use your ingredients. Here in the Products section you tell reciProfity how you purchase your ingredients.
Each ingredient can contain one or more products which are the identical item ordered from a different vendor, ordered in a different size, or packaged in a different way.
Each product has its own pricing data but shares Equivalents data with all other products under that ingredient, so all products must have identical yields and weight-volume conversions. If you have two similar items which have different yields, they cannot be Products of the same Ingredient, but must be entered as separate Ingredients.
Ingredient: Ketchup, Heinz
Product: Heinz Ketchup, 1000x9 g packets
Product: Heinz Ketchup, 24x 14 oz. bottles
Product: Heinz Ketchup, 1x #10 can
Ingredient: Curley Parsley
Product: Curley Parsley, 1 bunch
Product: Curley Parsley, 1 lb.
Not a Product: Curley Parsley, dried, ground. Since the yield and conversion equivalents don't apply to dried parsley the same way that they apply to fresh parsley, you need to enter this as a separate ingredient.
Ingredient: Pork Butt, boneless
Product: Pork Butt, boneless, 10-12 lbs.
Product: Pork Butt, boneless, 3-4 lbs.
Not a Product: Pork Butt, bone-in, 15 lbs. & up. Boneless pork butts will have a similar yield regardless of the size. A bone-in pork butt will have a different yield so it must be entered as a separate ingredient.
Ingredient: Flour, All Purpose
Product: All Purpose Flour, 1x 5kg bag
Product: All Purpose Flour, 10x 1kg bag
Not a Product: High Gluten Flour, 10x 1kg bag. Different types of flours have different weights, so the conversion equivalents won't be the same. High gluten flour, cake flour, 00 flour, and other types all need to be entered as separate ingredients.
